Don't you love sunflowers? What's not to love! This is a piece I made recently for a new internet shop which launched a few weeks ago called I LOVE SUNFLOWERS.
But I also thought it might be speaking about the gentle art of blogging ... and making new bloggy friends and 'following' their blogs, and them following yours:
“Every friend is to the other a sun, and a sunflower also.
He attracts and follows.”
Jean Paul Richter quotes (German Novelist and humorist, 1763-1825)
OK - so they maybe didn't blog in 1825 - this bloke was obviously way ahead of his time!
I like your thoughts about sunshine, blogs and following... We planted sunflower seeds this week - hoping they grow...
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, making and thoughts, bravo! I looked at the shop and this little patterned heart is my favorite. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you have coloured the tips of the petals and created the shape of them too..lovely!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fab subject to be working on - sunflowers just ooze summer and we all need reminding it'll be here soon enough...
ReplyDeleteYour ceramic sunflower is amazing -so colourful and beautifully shaped. I've just been preparing my garden and can't wait to see the sunflowers growing!I loved the quote too, and it's relevance to being a blogger now - it's so true.

I do love sunflowers. I think people miss just how sophisticated they really are. They such a mix of size, texture and contrast. I think they shout with glorious life. And yet the velvety center, that rich brown and the petals which are velvety in another way...oh, I could go on and on. I was a florist for seven years...it never leaves you. :) your interpretation is pretty glorious, as well!
