So, this was my little pitch at the Pick n Mix Makers market at Holt in North Norfolk yesterday.
My assistant for the day, (Mr PotterJotter), and I left home at the ungodly hour of 8a.m. in order to get there in time to set it all up. I am not a morning person, so when he starts singing along (every single word!) to Mr Tambourine Man on the car radio, declaring 'What a great start to the day!', I do inwardly wonder 'Great for whom?'.

I was quite happy with the overall look of my bit - quite bright and fresh and cheerful. One of my first visitors was Dosie Rosie, whose blog I pop into regularly.
It was so lovely to meet and chat to her in person.

It was great fun chatting to all the other stall-holders, but it was thirsty work and regular cuppas were washed down with helpings of this little lot, (I didn't want to but Mr PJ made me!), courtesy of Daisy Boo's Kitchen.
I also got me this gorgeous felt brooch from Planet Penny, another fellow blogger who I had met but not in person.
And there is the lady herself behind her really pretty stall.
and another pretty stall called Glory Days, who also have a shop in Norwich.
All great fun, and what's more, I did not spend all my profits buying other people's wares .... because .... we just swapped instead!
They chose something of mine they wanted, and I chose something of theirs.
So, everyone went home happy!!
Lovely wares!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great day.

Looks like a good venue!
ReplyDeleteTalking on blogs is good, but meeting a real live blogger is even better!
What lovely crafty wares. Love the idea of you all swapping your creations. I hope the fair was a success and the venue had plenty of 'foot fall'.

Your stand looks lovely - glad you had a good day, in spite of Mr Tambourine Man! I've only been to north Norfolk once and absolutely loved it, the coastline is stunning.
ReplyDeleteHi Catherine, it all looks fantastic and how wonderful to meet up with fellow blogger crafters..........hope you had a good day and sold lots of your lovely creations.

ReplyDeleteYour stand looks fab! A great way to meet up with like-minded people and hopefully you sold lots of stuff x
ReplyDeleteYour stand looks brilliant, I'm coming up soon, so disappointed I missed the event! Looks like it was a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet you at last Cathy. I'm not a morning person either so when I had to get up at 5.30 so I'd be there in time to open up for everyone at 7am I questioned why I set up this mad thing. Once we're all in I know why because the end result is always absolutely worth it.
ReplyDeleteI've written a long post with pics on the blog.

I too had a great day at the Pick and Mix Market, as Planet Penny's assistant proudly wearing my woolly sheep brooch to identify the brand!
ReplyDeleteThere we were next to Celia Hart - just love her beautiful prints, Heart of Glass - lovely jewel like pieces, and then Cathy's ceramics which drew me in like the vortex of a whirlpool. I just love her cross-over between textiles and ceramics; the texture and the colour. Nuff said... I came home with a pretty heart that has joined the collection on the half landing and the beautiful dish... 'Beach Huts'......which is sitting on the dining room table....defying the usual clutter very successfully. Much admired by the rest of the family too, and they are a very dicriminating lot! thank you Cathy. I hope we meet up again soon. Kit Calladine.
It was so lovely to meet you, Catherine and I am so taken with your beautiful ceramics take on textiles. Love my little heart but I will be back again for something special as I'm suffering from 'Beach Hut' envy, (see above!) And thanks too for the lovely picture of my stall, mine was rubbish! Hope we meet again soon, Penny
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, especially Kit, for your very kind words. It was a great day! See you soon I hope!
ReplyDeleteooh how lovely to have an insight into your day. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy - The colours and patterns on your ceramics are beautiful. I didn't have time to chat to you on Saturday, but I love the buttons I bought from you at the end... they are absolutely perfect to finish of the cardi I'm knitting.
ReplyDeleteThere was so much to see and buy wasn't there?! And those cakes!!!!
Best wishes
Celia
BTW Count yourself lucky - I had an early start too, 6.20am!
It looks like a wonderful event, I would have loved to visit but it's a bit too far for me. You sound like you came to a sensible solution, swapsies is good.
ReplyDeleteYour stall looks amazing, I wish I could have been there too, as everyones did..... It must have been worth the effort of getting up so early just to see so much lovely stuff all in one place! You came home with some lovely swapsies :)
